Mushrooms and gnocchi? Although this wasn't planned, they go surprisingly well together. I had bought this gnocchi because it was spinach flavoured, and in retrospect, I could have put it to better use, like spinach and ricotta gnocchi. Despite this, I don't regret this meal. The slightly sour flavour of the spinach gnocchi compliments the opposite flavour of the mushrooms, and the juxtaposition of textures between the gnocchi (starchy and firm) and the mushroom (firm in a more gelatinous way) offer interest.
A few years ago when I first went to university, I vowed to lose weight by eating in such a way that was healthy, satiating, convenient and cheap. I began a journey that was half typical university student (convenience foods and odd combinations of instant foods) and half passionate foodie (finding random boutique groceries). Please enjoy my blog :)

Salad with crispy bacon mustard dressing
Since I happened to have bacon, mustard, garlic, vinegar and French dressing, "Supercook," a website that collates various recipes from various websites based on ingredients used, showed me the recipe for this dressing. It was rather amazing and I needed suprisingly little to flavour the salad.
