Making the most of pre-made pasta meals


This is spinach and ricotta canneloni. Previously, I wouldn't have touched this kind of cheesy pasta dish with a ten foot pole. But when I was shopping, it was on special and I happened to be craving it. Luckily, a single serving is a bit less than 400 calories, and with some vegetables there is a complete meal. That wasn't so hard, was it?

Kangaroo Burger

It never occurred to me until now that I could eat a normal sized burger and not be hungry afterwards. That is until I realised that kangaroo burger patties are small anyway and only need a small bun (not those large hamburger style buns where you tend to find that there is way too much bread for the meat and you have to use far more sauce for everything to be not too dry). By making the bun smaller, I had enough calories to add a side of vegetables and stay within my 400 calorie range.

Mum's lamb roast

Mum always wonders why I stay so skinny. It's because I load up on veggies, but also have small amounts of tasty things like roast lamb and gravy. And I don't pick at the lamb all of the following morning until it's gone.
